With deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Nenita “Dolly” Salonga Gargantiel on April 5, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in the Philippines on September 22, 1939, Dolly was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. A proud alumna of the University of the East in Manila, she lived a life anchored in devotion to her family, sacrifice, and quiet resilience.
Above all her life’s accomplishments, Dolly’s greatest pride was in raising her six children. She was their constant—steady, strong, and full of hope. Her gentle guidance through life’s challenges taught them to see silver linings, to persevere, and to face adversity with grace and faith.
As the matriarch of our Eat family, Dolly was the glue that held us together. She had a gift for making even the simplest moments meaningful—sharing her favorite books, storytelling with humor and wisdom, and making lasting friendships at the senior center. Her love knew no bounds; it transcended miles, always reaching those she held dear.
We will miss her radiant smile, her infectious laugh, and the conversations that warmed our hearts. She lived and loved boldly, and in doing so, she showed us the true meaning of compassion, loyalty, and grace.
Dolly is survived by her children: Willy & Colette, Peter & Tina, Edwin & Agnes, Roman, Paolo & Nayantara, and April & Ben; her grandchildren: Aldrin & Vi, Mark & Nica, Bianca, Michelle & Connor, Mikka & Sam, Milo, Carissa, Luigi, and Rose Dolly; and her great-grandchild, Isla Clare.
Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to guide and inspire us. We invite friends and family to share memories, messages, or light a virtual candle in her honor.
