With deep sorrow and immense gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Nenita “Dolly” Salonga Gargantiel on April 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 22, 1939, in the Philippines, Dolly was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love.
She attended the University of the East in Manila, Philippines, and went on to build a life rooted in love, sacrifice, and resilience. Of all her life’s accomplishments, Dolly took the greatest pride in raising her six children. She was a pillar of strength, guiding them through life’s challenges with grace, hope, and steadfast optimism. Even in the most trying times, she encouraged them to find the silver lining—instilling the belief that with patience and perseverance, every hardship could be overcome.
We will forever remember her for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the bold, colorful life she lived. Dolly amazed us in countless ways. As the matriarch of our Eat family, she was the thread that held us together. She found joy in the simple pleasures—reading her favorite books, sharing stories, and spending time at the senior center, where she built cherished friendships. Whether near or far, she never let distance define connection. Her love reached across miles and generations.
Her laughter, her radiant smile, and the heartfelt conversations we shared will be deeply missed. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she taught her children and grandchildren the true meaning of unconditional love, compassion, and grace.
Dolly was known for her fierce loyalty, nurturing soul, and enduring friendships. With a strong will and a tender heart, she was not only a devoted mother but a guiding light in the lives of many. Though her absence leaves a profound void, her legacy—of love, courage, and wisdom—will continue to guide and inspire us, always.
She is survived by her sons (& spouses) Willy (Colette) Blasquez, Peter (Tina) Blasquez, Edwin (Agnes) Blasquez, Roman Gargantiel III, Paolo Gargantiel (Nayantara Sen), and daughter (& spouse) April (Ben) Castillo.
Grandchildren (& spouses): Aldrin (Vi) Blasquez, Mark (Nica) Blasquez, Bianca Blasquez, Michelle (Connor) Nicklas, Mikka (Sam) Aycock, Milo Blasquez, Carissa Blasquez, Luigi Blasquez, and Rose Dolly Castillo.
