Nena Remigio Barit, a luminous spirit and cherished matriarch, was born on January 6, 1938, in the tranquil town of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. She graced this world until her peaceful departure on March 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, resilience, and devotion to family.
Nena's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to those she cherished. She was a beloved wife to Perry Barit, a steadfast partner whose companionship enriched her days. As a mother, she nurtured her sons, Pierre and Odie, instilling in them values of kindness and integrity that would guide them throughout their lives. Her love extended gracefully to her daughter-in-law, Jean, embracing her as a cherished member of the family. The warmth of her affection enveloped her grandchildren, Lance and Marella, who were the bright lights of her later years, filling her heart with joy and pride.
The bonds Nena forged were deep and profound, marked by the shared laughter and stories that echoed through family gatherings. Each moment spent with her was imbued with a sense of importance and love that only a matriarch can impart.
As we gather to honor her memory, we will come together for a visitation at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Patriots Chapel on April 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, allowing friends and family to share in the remembrance of her remarkable life. The following day, on April 11, 2025, a funeral service will be held at St. Linus Catholic Church in Norwalk, beginning at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM. These services will provide a sacred space for all who loved her to celebrate the profound impact she had on each of our lives.
In her passing, Nena joins her late daughter, Gisela Barit Francia, forging an eternal bond that transcends time and space. While we mourn the physical absence of our beloved Nena, we take solace in the indelible mark she left on our hearts and the love that continues to bind her family.
As we reflect on her life, may we carry forward her teachings, embodying the grace and compassion that she so beautifully exemplified. Nena Remigio Barit will always remain a beacon of strength and love, a cherished memory etched forever in our souls.
