Nelson V. Manaay was born on January 21, 1977, at Kaiser Hospital, in Los Angeles, CA, to Enrico and Azucena Manaay. He resided with his parents and grew up in Atwater Village, CA, throughout his life. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School during his elementary school years. He then went to St. Francis High School in La Cañada and graduated in 1995. He continued with his studies at CA Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and graduated in March 2002, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration-Computer Information Systems. He was a devoted Catholic and attended mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he faithfully served as an altar boy during his childhood years.
For the past fourteen years, Nelson worked as a Clerical Assistant/Data I&R specialist/ILS Advocate for Communities Actively Living Independent and Free (CALIF), a non-profit 501 (C)(3) organization, that provides advocacy programs and services for people with disabilities in the Los Angeles County. He was the heart of the company and was so well loved by staff and consumers.
As a result of his kind spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved and adored by all. He was friendly, thoughtful, helpful, accommodating and was always willing to go out of his way to lend a hand. He loved and enjoyed spending quality time with his niece and nephews no matter how near or far. He loved sports particularly basketball, football and baseball. His infectious smile would light up a room. Sadly, due to his battle with diabetes and other health complications, his passing came unexpectedly too soon. He quietly departed this life on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, with his family and friends by his side. His gentle and warm loving heart will forever remain in the lives of all those who knew him.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family: Parents, Enrico R. and Azucena V. Manaay of Los Angeles, CA; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Teresa M. and Andrew M. Isago of Burbank, CA; Brother and Sister-In-Law, Edwin V. and Cecille Manaay of Lake Forest, CA; Nephews and niece, Adam and Aaron Isago, Vivienne and Grant Manaay; a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
