Nelly Konings Henrotaux

Nelly Edmonde (Konings) Henrotaux, was born on March 17, 1952 in Liege Belgium. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Rancho Mirage, CA. She was only 71.

Nelly is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Jean-Pierre Henrotaux. As well as her Father and Mother, Alex and Marie-Therese Konings. 

Nelly is survived by her daughter, Isabelle Henrotaux Whitley, her son-in-love, Jason Whitley and her grandchildren, Alexander and Madison Whitley. Even though she was an only child, she was very fortunate to have  “sisters” in her 3 sisters in law and her dear cousin whom all live in Belgium, along with numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. 

After moving to the Coachella  Valley from Belgium in 1983 Nelly started working in retail at Bullocks Palm Desert and made connections and bonds that would last to this day with very special customers that would become friends. At the age of 63 when most start thinking of retiring she fulfilled a life long dream and became the new owner of her own boutique, Democracy, on El Paseo.  

She was an avid lover of travel, especially Italy, having gone on numerous cruises and road trips thru Europe in the last 20 years, while also visiting the family in Belgium every summer . She and Jean-Pierre loved to share all those special trips with family especially Madison and Alexander! 

Nelly was an amazing artist and so creative. She loved all types of music and would sing from her heart. She was the most generous, thoughtful, strong, determined and kindest person anyone could have known. 

The most cherished thing in her life was to love, take care of and spoil her 2 grandchildren, Alexander and Madison. They were her entire world and they know that Lally will be watching over them always and forever. 

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cathedral City. Reception to follow.
