Nellie G. (Winter) Pollister, 97 of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Oceanside Nursing Home in Hampton, NH.

She was born on July 6, 1917 in Haverhill, MA the daughter of the late Murray and Edith (Cooper) Winter. She was raised and educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1935.

Nellie had worked locally in the shoe industry for Haverhill Shoe Novelty for several years. She had also worked as a seamstress for Hooker & Howe Costume Company in Bradford, MA

She enjoyed spending endless hours tending to her garden. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. Nellie was extremely talented at crocheting, knitting and sewing. Many of her family and friends cherish the personal pieces that Nellie crafted for them over the years, and it brought her much joy to be able to do so.

Nellie was predeceased by her husband, George L. Pollister, Sr. She is survived by her son, George L. Pollister, Jr. and his wife, Yvette of Haverhill, MA. Her daughters; Priscilla E. Osgood of Kingston, NH and Ruth Ann Hagen and her husband, William of Wakefield, NH. Her sister, Eileen Lajoie of Methuen, MA. Her grandchildren; Melissa Hartford, Scott Pollister and Michelle Weatherbee. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Mrs. Pollister on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. A private burial will take place in the spring in Union Cemetery in Newton, NH. Memorial donations are requested to: the Kingston Fire Department, 148 Main Street, P.O. Box 302, Kingston, NH 03848.
