Nelia De Sagun Abrena

Nelia "Nellie" De Sagun Abrena, 72, passed away December 3, 2021 with her family and loved ones by her side. She resided in La Mirada, CA at the time of her passing.

She was born to the late Jose and Gregoria De Sagun on October 5, 1949 in the Philippines. She was married to Mateo Abrena, with whom she celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this past November. She is survived by her two daughters: Michelle Bautista and Maricelle Abrena-Siu; sons-in-law: Gregory Bautista and Phillip Siu; and her 5 grandchildren: Mikayla, Gavyn, Grayson, Mila, and Jameson.

Nelia enjoyed traveling, hosting family parties, and gardening. She especially loved tending to her extensive orchid collection, many of which were her own special hybrid orchids which she pollinated by hand herself. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Viewing service will take place on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10-4PM. The following schedule will take place on the day of viewing:
Praying of the Rosary at 2PM

Funeral and interment will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:30AM at the Patriots Chapel. Lunch reception to follow after the burial.
