Natividad Gallardo Cofinco, our "MOM", departed her loving family at the age of 94 on January 4, 2022.
Mom was born on December 24, 1927, in Tandag, Surigao Del Sur, Philippines. to (father) Hepolito Martinez Gallardo and (mother) Romualda Falcon Acebedo Gallardo.
At the time of her passing, Mom has been a long time resident of Cerritos, CA. for 48 years. Prior to settling in Cerritos California, she was instrumental in moving the family from several places and has lived in Tulsa Oklahoma, Chicago Illinois, Santa Mesa Manila Philippines and from her home town in Tandag, Surigao Del Sur, in the island of Mindanao Philippines.
Mom went to high school at St. Theresa College of Tandag, Surigao Del Sur. Took education as a major in Cebu Normal University. Finished her education and graduated with a bachelors degree in Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines.
Mom started out as a teacher in Tandag Central Elementary School. Worked as an intern for several Filipino Congressman in Manila. Worked for Social Security System (SSS) in Manila Philippines. Was a department supervisor at several Insurance companies in the US.
Mom is our guiding light, the path finder for her family, sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces, her life long goal to bring all of us to a better place, so that we may all live a better life and be successful in our endeavors. Mom has traveled the world, in all directions, with her beloved husband our father Leocadio Cofinco (Pop's). As a devout Catholic, Mom has lead and guided pilgrimages to Jerusalem, kissed the hands of the Pope at St Peters Basilica the Vatican, she has been an active member of several church groups and the church choir. She loves to sing (like an angel) and dance (like a queen). We will miss her, our "MOM" for the ages.
Mom is survived by her sons Roberto Cofinco, Rodrigo Cofinco, Reynaldo Cofinco, and Ricardo Cofinco. She is a grandmother to Alejandro Cofinco, Emilio Cofinco, Brianna Cofinco (marriage name Brianna Patel), Selena Cofinco, Jordan Cofinco, Ricci Lynn Cofinco, and Jedidiah Cofinco. She is a great grandmother to Shia Patel.
Mom is also survived by her sisters Azucena Manila, and Yolanda Dirlam. An aunt to Gloria Manila, Grace Manila Villa, Geronimo Manila, Greta Manila, Gil Manila, Noli Boado, Michael Dirlam, Mitchell Dirlam. Lola to Gabi Manila Jingco, Jason Manila Jingco, Jacqueline Manila Jingco, Diwa Manila De Joya, Isabel Manila Villa, Isaiah Manila Villa, Geoffrey Manila, Gwenyth Manila, Christine Manila and Kingston Dirlam.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
Visitation, viewing, rosary prayers and Cursillo rites will be in Hope Chapel, Forest Lawn, Cypress on January 23, 2022, from 12:00-4:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be in Patriots Chapel, Forest Lawn, Cypress on January 24, 2022, starting at 11:30am and interment immediately follows.
