Natividad Capili

Natividad "Naty" Capili, a beloved matriarch and a source of joy and wisdom for her family, passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 82, in Chino Hills, California. Born on November 29, 1942, in the Philippines, her journey through life was marked by dedication to her family, a strong will, and a joyful spirit.

Naty began her career as a homemaker, a role she cherished until 1989 when she embraced a new chapter by moving to the United States. During her time in the U.S., she worked in administration, briefly at the Los Angeles Unified School District, where her dedication was evident. Her greatest pride, however, always lay in her family—her children, whom she nurtured and cared for with unwavering love.

Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends. Known for her delicious chicken pastel, embutido, and the sweet treat maja blanca, Naty was not easily impressed by others' cooking; she held herself to high standards in the kitchen. Her home was a gathering place, always bustling with the laughter of her children and grandchildren, as she delighted in the hustle and bustle of family life, creating cherished memories amid the warmth of home-cooked meals.

Naty's personality was a beautiful blend of stubbornness, strength, and abundant love for her family, particularly her grandchildren. She faced her physical challenges with grace, ensuring that she was there for them, showing them the strengths that came from within. Though she possessed a seriously competitive spirit, especially at the mahjong table and during trips to Vegas, her sense of humor radiated, brightening the lives of everyone around her.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Teaching from Guagua National Colleges in 1970, a testament to her commitment to education, which she also passed down to her children. Naty was known for her sweet tooth and wasn't afraid to indulge in her favorite treat, halo halo. Her foresight was complemented by her great love for the arts, as she found joy and connection in the works of her favorite actress, Nora Aunor, a bond that seemed almost prophetic as they departed from this world just days apart.

Naty's legacy will live on through her devoted husband, Nick, and her children—Noel and wife Maureen, Nestor and wife Marina, Jun and wife Annette, Neomi and husband Faith, Nona and husband Adan, and Nanet and husband Bong and her cherished niece, Jocelyn and her husband Jowell. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Nathaniel, Niko, Nowie, Noah, Franie, Nian, Nikki, Najhiv, Raymund, Nhatalie, Justine, Nina, Mia, and Mateo and great grand daughter Abiyah. Naty has been reunited with her beloved sisters Ofelia and Sophia, her father Leoncio, her mother Consolacion, and her granddaughters,  Apple and Amyah in eternal rest.

As those who loved her gather to celebrate her extraordinary life, her spirit will continue to be felt in every moment they share and every dish they prepare, echoing the values of love and nurturing she instilled. Naty will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for the love she infused into every aspect of her life.

Visitation will be held on May 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Tribute Center, followed by a Funeral Service on May 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage.
