Nathaniel "Nate" Moon was born May 25, 1961 to the late Zannie Mack Moon and Ruth Mae McDaniel Moon in Beckley, West Virginia, and departed this earthly life on April 2, 2022 in Glendora, California where he resided with his wife Theresa.
Nathaniel accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at Faith Chapel A.M.E. church in Raleigh, West Virginia. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, West Virginia and played sports excelling in football. Following high school, he moved to California and joined New Testament Baptist Church in Wilmington pastored by Dr. Felton Simpson.
Nathaniel chose the aerospace manufacturing industry as his career path and quickly moved toward management, acquiring his B.A. from The University of Phoenix. Nathaniel dedicated over 35 years to Lefiell Aerospace Manufacturing and was the current Assistant Director of Logistics and Scheduling. He touched many lives on a daily basis with his electric smile and team building skills.
In 1985, Nathaniel won the hand of the P.K. (preacher's kid), Theresa Renee Simpson. The two enjoyed 36 years of marriage and from that union was born the "Three J's"- Jordan, Joshua and Jacob. He joined Vine-Life Christian Fellowship in 1987 with Dr. Robert L. Wilks, Jr. as their Pastor. As the years progress, this family known as "The Moon 5" dedicated their time and lives to their family and home church.
Nathaniel enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball and basketball, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, traveling, watching sports, eating West Virginia hotdogs, lots of fried chicken and enjoying God's blessings.
His memories will forever be cherished among his wife, Theresa Simpson-Moon, his children, Jordan (Ashleigh), Joshua (Jazzmine) and Jacob (Jaymie), his siblings; Virgillious- "Jill" Moon-Glenn, Mack Moon, Melissa Moon-Carter "His Second Mom", Juanita Moon-Humphrey, Viola Moon-Rowe (David), Virgie Moon-Morrow, Carrie Moon-Daniel (Tyrone), Sterling Moon, Joseph Moon (Velma), Ruth Moon-Davis, Michael Moon and Corrine Hubbard. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Irene Moon and George Robert Moon. He will be missed by his in-laws Dr. Felton and Mrs. Ozie Simpson who referred to him as their "favorite son-in law" and his sister-in-law Viviann Ivory, also by his grandchildren; Jaylin Moon, Liberti Blu Moon, Kennadi Faith Moon, NaKya Solomon, Chase Solomon and Elias Johnson, his Aunt Ernestine Hurtte, Uncle Sam McDaniel and a host of Nephews, Nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.
