In Loving Memory of Nancy Anne Garcia Lugo
July 12, 1949 – June 5, 2026
Obituary
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Nancy Anne Garcia Lugo, who passed away on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her family. Nancy will be remembered for her gentle heart, joyful spirit, and the way she made every child feel seen, safe, and cherished.
Born and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Nancy grew up in a home filled with faith, family, and simple joys. She later made her home in California, where she devoted herself to her children and grandchildren. Her creativity, kindness, and laughter were gifts she shared freely with everyone around her.
Nancy’s life was full of phases, but the constant thread was love — love for her family, love for her roots, and love expressed through small acts of kindness. She leaves behind memories that will be retold for generations, and a legacy of strength, humor, and heart.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Steve Lugo; her daughters Yvette Lizardi, Yvonne Urquidez, and Regina (Gina) Valdez; seven grandchildren; and ten great‑grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Noriega Garcia, and her sisters Christine Rodriguez and Deirdre Castañon.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfonso L. Garcia; her brothers David, John, and Tim Garcia; and her stepson Stevie Lugo—all of whom she loved deeply and now rejoins in eternal peace.
Nancy’s life was full of love, laughter, faith, and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the hearts she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. A reception will follow immediately at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 8410 Kass Dr., Buena Park, CA 90621.
Friends and family are encouraged to honor Nancy’s memory at her Celebration of Life by wearing a shade of purple or royal blue — Nancy’s favorite colors that reflected her personality, OR white (signifying peace and calm; purity or innocence; spiritual transition or rebirth).
