Nancy "Sarge" Babette Kepley

Nancy "Sarge" Babette Keeler Kepley, 69, born on October 11, 1949, in Compton, California, passed away June 26, 2019 peacefully in her home. She resided in Lake Elsinore, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California. She was proceeded in death by her husband James Todd Kepley. Nancy is survived by two daughters Robbin L. Horn and Kathren B. Kepley, as well as her grandchildren Daniel, MacKenzie, Michael and Ayden and her siblings Jim, Judy and Les. Nancy dedicates her life to her career and children. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District for 42 years. She coached girls basketball for many many years at EHS, helped with site functions at multiple schools but always made time for the kids who needed a shoulder to cry on, an adult to confide in and trust and pushed everyone to attain their greater self.She was truly a selfless individual. There are many to this day that call her mom instead of Sarge. Richie Rabb being one of those many! Nancy also started the Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society (LEGS), was a nationally recognized genealogical speaker, owned Root of it All traveling genealogical bookstore. Researched her daily line back as far as possible. We will be holding a grave side service on July 9th and are in the works of planning a memorial service at EHS in September. Since it is a graveside service, we would like to respect those interred at the cemetery and keep it small with family and close friends and colleagues. We will also not turn anyone away who wants to pay their respects.
