Nadine Cruz Rios, a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Friend peacefully passed away on March 21, 2025. Nadine was born in the quaint town of Hollister, CA on March 25, 1942. She was born so small that her mother swaddled her in a handkerchief around her neck to incubate her. From that tiny baby, a mighty and fierce woman evolved. She was a force to be reckoned with!

Nadine’s greatest passion was spending time with her family singing and dancing. Hollister always had a piece of her heart as it is where she loved being with her siblings. Lively, outgoing, and gregarious are a few words that describe who Nadine was. She was known by all to have a spirit that exuded energy and zestfulness. Nadine loved sharing her memories of working in the cannery and fruit picking when she was a child. She was diligent and it showed in her work ethic. A memory shared by her son, Ernie, was when he first purchased his home his parents were thrilled to assist with home repairs. Nadine specifically was persistent in aiding with the cabinetry work. Determined to complete this project, she showed up weekend after weekend to ensure that her work was thorough and precise. Her efforts did not go unnoticed as the cabinets have been and will always be an indispensable craft in Ernie’s home.

Nadine dedicated her life to her family and to her love of Las Vegas and casinos worldwide. She was most carefree and in her element when she was with her family in the casinos and it is where she spent significant time with both of her daughters. A world traveler, Nadine made it a point to visit a casino, if there was one, wherever she was traveling to. Her daughter Frances’ favorite memory of her mom is when they would travel and go to the casinos to have fun and sit poolside. This is where they were able to have their most intimate moments reminiscing and sharing their thoughts and feelings. Those are the times they were most vulnerable with each other and Frances with cherish those valuable memories until the end of time. Her daughter Doreen also shares a special memory with her mom while in Laughlin. Doreen was not having any luck on the machines so she ent to discuss her misfortune with her momma and Nadine reassured her to think positive and proceeded to inform Doreen of her prosperity and methods of winning. Nadine stated that she always thought positively and would touch the glass part of the machine prior to playing. Doreen mimicked her mother’s process and came out a winner, winning $600 and they celebrated by dancing the night away!

Nadine was loved by so many. She is survived by Frances, Ernie, Doreen, 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Her legacy will live on through generations and will forever be cherished by those who love her dearly. This is Nadine’s sign to you, go out, have a great time and play your lucky numbers but always remember to think positively and touch the glass.

Although we may be mourning, rest assured, Nadine hit the ultimate Jackpot because she is commemorating her new life in Heaven with Jesus Christ. Amen!
