Muriel "Bunny" Shirley Murphy left the earthly stage on February 8, 2013 to perform for heaven eternally. She was born in Canada March 15, 1928, to parents Patrick & Germaine Kernan. Bunny started dancing at an early age and never stopped. She was a dance double for Shirley Temple as a young child and performed throughout her childhood and teenage years in Canada. She was a member of the Quebec Dance Teachers Association, a Rookie Troupe Show dancer and performed for the Troops during World War II.
She opened "Bunny" Steppings Dance Studio, in Ville St. Laurent in 1950 and built it up to be one of the largest dance studio's in Canada. The studio thrived and grew with the addition of three children to her family.
In 1961, Bunny immigrated to the United States and settled in La Verne California where she continued to raise her family and opened another dance studio on 3rd Street in La Verne. Her new home saw the arrival of 3 more children as well as most of her family in Canada relocating to Southern California.
1969 brought about a chance to live in Scotland through an assignment of her husband. Bunny relocated the household to Glenrothes, Scotland. During this stay, she learned the game of golf and as with everything she did, developed very good skill and ability.
Early in the 1970's, she returned to Southern California and settled in Newberry Park, California. With her children involved in sports she became an avid baseball fan and loved the Dodgers. She could talk sports with the best of the analysts, it didn't matter what the subject was, and Bunny loved sports.
Bunny retired in 1995 to the Sands RV Park in Desert Hot Springs, California. She continued to be involved as always and took the position of running the pro-shop for the community Golf Course. While at Sands RV Park, she also developed and directed the Annual Talent production along with creating a performing group called the "Sand Tappers".
She is survived by 3 Sisters and 1 Brother, 5 Children, 10 Grand Children and 7 Great Grand Children.
Bunny lived her life full of enthusiasm for everything and everybody she touched. Always a twinkle in her eye and ready to "perform". Her epitaph as we release her to the great stage in the sky is "She tapped Danced her way into Heaven."
God Bless you Bunny for the lives you touched and the love you gave and received from your Family and Friends.
