Mosses Movel, 85, born on April 04, 1939, in Tehran, Iran, passed away January 04, 2025. He resided in Glendale, CA at the time of his passing.
Mosses, affectionately known as Mossik or Mike, was born to Seda Mnatsakanian and Levon Movel. He was the second of their three children, with an older sister, Emma, who sadly passed away in 2019, and a younger brother, William (Willik), who is seven years his junior.
Mossik’s early education took place at Saint Louis French School in Tehran. After graduating, he began his career as a salesman for General Electric, where his brother-in-law, Grish, served as the general manager. During this time, Mossik also contributed to his community as a scout leader, representing Iran at an international scouting gathering in France, a testament to his leadership and adventurous spirit.
Not long after his first job, Mossik transitioned to working for Lepetit Pharmaceuticals, a reputable French company. His dedication and work ethic saw him rise quickly through the ranks.
In his early 20s, Mossik married Anya Sitar, and together they had two sons. Although the couple divorced in 1976, Mossik devoted himself to raising his boys as a single father, demonstrating immense love and resilience.
In 1978, Mossik’s pharmaceutical career took him to Greece, where he brought his sons along. After a few years, the family immigrated to the United States, initially settling in Fort Lauderdale near his sister’s family before moving to New York. There, Mossik started an import business, achieving success despite the challenges of single parenthood. His older son, Mark, joined the Marines, while his younger son, Alex started his career in the construction industry.
Mossik’s deep sense of family extended to his mother, whom he brought from Iran to live with him. He cared for her selflessly, remaining by her side until her final days.
Known for his generosity and kindness, Mossik helped countless people throughout his life. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a man of remarkable character.
Later in life, Mossik began to focus on his own happiness. He met Aida, and quickly knew he wanted to marry her. The couple started their life together in New York before eventually moving to Glendale California, where they built a beautiful life together.
Mossik will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his remarkable achievements, and his generous heart that touched the lives of so many.
