Modesta Laygo 89 years of life

Modesta Laygo, who loved to be called “Nanay, or Mommy” by her children, “Lola” by her grandchildren a great grandchildren departed her loving family on March 21, 2023.

Modesta, was born in the Philippines on February 14, 1934.

Modesta was mother to Milagros, Jose Jr., Nellie, Emmanuel, Araceli, Josephine, and Jennifer.  She raised her children with love and devotion in La Puente California with her beloved husband Jose Laygo.

She is survived by her adult children Milagros, Nellie, Emmanuel, Araceli, Josephine, and Jennifer.  As well as her grandchildren Jennabel “Jing-Jing”, Bryan, Modesta Je-Ann “Moodie”, Myla Jade, Kimberly, Derek, Ronamae, Sarah, and Sophia.  Also, her great grandchildren Channelle, John-John Dynnel, Princess, and Brinna.

Services will be held at Forest Lawn, 21300 Via Verde St., Covina California 91724 on April 11, 2023.

Open Casket Viewing starts at 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM  (2^nd Floor of the Forest Lawn Mortuary building)

Refreshments and food will be served from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Across from the viewing room)

Celebration of Life for Modesta Laygo will start at 2:30 PM at the Memory Chapel (located at the side of the Forest Lawn Mortuary building)

Followed by the Burial Service at the Vale of Faith Gardens (located next to her beloved husband Jose Laygo)
