Simi Valley

Maria Minerva Beltran Ramirez, 82, born on June 22, 1943, in Tijuana, Mexico, and a resident of Simi Valley, CA., was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and more recently, a great-grandmother. She went by Minerva but was known as Mama Mita to the children. She was a service provider through and through, having retired from Saint Joseph Medical Center, where she worked to feed patients, staff, and visitors alike. She was always willing to care for anyone visiting her home, insisting on cooking meal after meal until no more could be eaten. She loved going on walks and visiting with neighbors. She could be securely covered in blankets, even when the temperature soared, often saying, “hace mucho frio.” She loved attending baseball games with her son and cheering the Dodgers on. Mama Mita enjoyed having her granddaughters visit yearly and attend many of their ballet dance recitals. She supported her children as they attended college, moved away, and started their own families. Her kindness, generosity, and concern for their well-being blessed all family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raul M Ramirez., her son, Raul B Ramirez, her daughters, Yolanda Ramirez and Annabelle Lazzarini, her brothers, Jesus and Gilbert, her sisters, Lissette and Annette, her 2 granddaughters, Emily and Isabelle, and her great-grandson, Micah. We all wish we had more time with her; her memory will live on, and she will be greatly missed.
