Milo Puno Maglangque, 86, was born on July 18, 1939 in Tarlac, Philippines. He passed away peacefully at his residence in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in the presence of his wife, Cora Maglangque, and three adult children Earl Maglangque, Eris-Liza Radcliff and Ellen-Rose Smith. Arrangements for his visitation and funeral service are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA
Milo was the oldest of nine children to Eriberto and Luisa Maglangque. When he was just 16 years old, he became a civilian employee of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Logistics Center. He later earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of the East in 1963. He continued working in the office as a Supervisor of General Services where he later met his future wife Cora Israel in 1970. In February 1972, Milo and Cora got married and started their young life together as a couple.
After losing their first child, Connie, at just two months old to meningitis, Milo and Cora dreamt of restarting their life in the United States. In 1974, shortly after the birth of their son, Earl, the couple embarked on the long-anticipated journey and emigrated to the United States, settling in Los Angeles, CA. They would have two more children, daughters Eris-Liza born in 1975 and Ellen-Rose born in 1981.
Milo was a humble man with a simple dream to provide a better and brighter life for his family. To this end, he worked tirelessly and with frugality to see his dream come to fruition. Milo found employment as a vault teller with Bank of America, where he worked for 25 years. He also worked a part time job for 11 years to supplement his income, all to maintain a house, home and future for the family. When in 1997 he had a massive stroke that would end his career, he still found a way to keep the family afloat and together.
In his retired life, he kept busy helping around the house finding 1000 different uses for duct tape and shoelaces, following his favorite team the Los Angeles Lakers on tv, painting and crafting where Milo's artwork was even recognized by the City of Los Angeles as a distinguished artist at the 4th annual Senior Art Exhibit, and finally getting to travel around the world to numerous exciting destinations such as Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, Scandinavia, Turkey, the Philippines, Central America and Mexico.
Though his accomplishments were admirable, the thing he was most proud of and that gave him the most fulfilling happiness was love for his family. He sacrificed as much as he could to ensure his children were given quality education and appreciation for hard work. He saw his children graduate from college, set off with their careers, get married and start families of their own. And when his children had children, he glowed with incomparable joy to play with and watch his beloved grandchildren grow. For the time we were afforded, we are forever grateful.
And in Milo's final days, it was his family's immense privilege to honor his wish to bring him home, to surround him with the strength and warmth of the family's love, and allow him to drift into heaven's peaceful repose.
Milo, you are forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed by all.
