Millie Mary Detgen

Millie Mary Detgen, 88, born on May 12, 1932, in Alamosa County, CO, United States, passed away April 2, 2021. She resided in Simi Valley, CA at the time of her passing.
Millie was born in 1932 in Colorado and moved to California as a teenager with her parents and 5 siblings. She became a wife and Mother in 1955 to her only daughter Lorrie. Millie was an amazingly strong woman who could handle anything life threw at her. She even chose her profession based around her daughters school hours. She managed the Kiddeland until 1971 when she married Gene Detgen and was able to retire. Unfortunately that was short lived when Gene had a stroke and she took over his position as a sales rep for Guild Guitars. At that time it was a predominately male field where she rose to become a very well respected woman in the industry. She worked and took care of Gene, which showed what a compassionate and loving person she was. Later in life she enjoyed her Antiques and gardening. She lived for her daughter and Grandchildren. She was the most loving, caring, giving person around; just don't mess with her family or you would see her Protective Italian temper come out! She was a loving Mom and Grandma and treated all of her extended family and friends with Love and Kindness. She was the strength and heart of our family and will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.
