Mildred Gloria Orr

Mildred Gloria Orr, 89, born on October 3, 1927, in Bellflower, California, passed away December 28, 2016. She resided in Lakewood, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California. Mildred graduated from Excelsior High School in 1943. She was the Executive Secretary to the President and a Court Reporting Teacher at Cerritos College for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Orr, sisters, Edna Mahaffie, Mary Ryman and Helen Knights and brothers, George Orr and Lawrence Orr. She leaves behind nieces Barbara Mahaffie, Seal Beach, CA; Diane Payne, Kapowsin, WA; Patty Schneider, San Diego, CA; Carol Garcia, San Diego, CA; Sandra Molloy, Spring, TX; and nephews, Frank Ryman, Yakutat, AK; Richard Knights, Moriarty, NM; and Steven Knights, San Pedro, CA; and their families, as well as countless life long friends.

Anyone who knew Millie well, can attest to her enormously kind heart and beautiful generosity. She was an animal advocate and loved her fur babies almost as much as her family members. She loved to laugh and taught her nieces and nephews to live life to the fullest while at the same time being considerate of others. Our memories will undoubtedly sustain us for the rest of our lives as she played such a huge part in the lives of those she touched. We love you Millie and thank you for having such a strong, positive influence in our lives.
