Mildred Joy Jarrell

Mildred Joy Jarrell, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, at her home in Ontario, California with her son Donald Edward Jarrell by her side.
She was born July 23, 1929, in Rock Mills, Alabama, to Mary Emma and Emory E. Huey. She was married to Charles Edward Jarrell, who served in the Navy during World War II, in 1949 and had four children. During World War II, she worked in a hosiery mill to support herself and her mother.
During her later years she worked as a teacher at Mountain Ave Assembly of God Christian School in Ontario, California. She loved being around children and enjoyed teaching them about the word of God. Mildred was a truly devoted Christian woman who was a member most recently with the Assembly of God church and other church congregations for the past 65 years.
Mildred was known by all for her loud and loving personality that would light up a room when she would enter it. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Ann Jarrell, Donald Edward Jarrell, Charles Wayne Jarrell, and Joseph Anthony Jarrell; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; niece Larita Gail Porter nephew Paul D. Jarrell; and loving friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, from 12-4pm at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress. Funeral services will also be at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress location at the Church of Our Fathers Wednesday, December 12, at 2pm.
