Milad R. Shokair

Milad R. Shokair, 62, of Downey, CA, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 26 at 9AM at Calvary Chapel Downey 12808 Woodruff Ave. Downey, CA. Burial will follow under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.

Milad was born in Cairo, Egypt in December 1955 to Ramzy and Raouth Shokair. He immigrated to the US in 1972. He earned a BS and an MSPH from UCLA, and later completed a PhD. He married Nema Yonan in Cairo, Egypt in 1980. He worked as a hospital epidemiologist in hospitals in Southern California for nearly 40 years. He was dedicated to serving the Lord and was a dedicated member of the Arabic Bible Christian Church in Long Beach, CA.

He is survived by his wife Nema; his children Christina (Hady) Marcos, Timothy (Allison) Shokair-Sullivan, and Sarah (Victor Lightle) Shokair; grandchildren Josiah, Gianna, Edith, Shiloh, and Lucia; siblings Isaac and Mariam; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
