Mike Romero

Mike Flores Romero, 78, born on May 8, 1935, in Marilao, Bulacan, Philippines, passed away July 20, 2013. He resided in Beverly Hills, California, at the time of his passing.

Mike is the youngest of three brothers. Mike grew up in Marilao, Bulacan until he moved to Manila for high school and college. He graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila. He worked at the Central Post Office in Manila until he and his wife immigrated to the United States in 1969 and resided in Los Angeles, California.

Mike worked for Continental Airlines for eleven (11) years until the airline moved its headquarters to Houston, Texas. In the early 1980s, with the help of his older brother Victor, Mike opened the Embassy Theatre showing Filipino movies. In addition to movies, Mike and his brother promoted concerts with Filipino artists and doing shows in various cities (Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Seattle, and Chicago).

Mike's business dealings took him to several states, such as Texas, Virginia, Florida, and New York. Because of his business mindset and friendly personality, Mike has gained friends (his barkadas) from all over the country.

Mike is survived by his wife, Pilar, his daughter, Michelle, his nieces & nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
