Miguel Caballero, 89, born on September 28, 1933, in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He was the youngest of 13 siblings. He met his wife Dora in 1959. Miguel was a trailblazer. Fueled by a desire and hope to give his family a better life, he immigrated to the United States in 1963, and began the painstaking process of laying the foundations necessary, to bring his wife, children, and family to America.
His smile & zest for life was infectious to all those around him. He couldn't help but to give of himself and of his possessions, to anyone who crossed his path. He enjoyed music & hosting weekend gatherings during his earlier years.
His love for animals, is unparalleled, as he owned countless dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, birds, even fish over the years. Some would say that he introduced his neighbors to the sound of an early morning rooster crow in the early 60's in a largely Caucasian neighborhood.
Miguel loved soccer y “La Playa vos!” El Salvador remained not only his birthplace, but his favorite place to rest and recharge.
Miguel worked at Maclin company for approximately 35 years. This was not only the place in which he worked, but a place at which he built a community, that included other immigrants, who like himself, were in the process of making a new country home. He was known for taking whole watermelons or carne de buche to work to share during lunch.
But above all those things, he loved his family most. Despite his health challenges, he continued to live life to the fullest. Miguel finished his race, March 9, 2023.
He is survived by his bride of 61 years, Dora, his 2 sons, Victor & Mario, his 2 daughters, Emma & Josefina, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Miguel leaves behind a legacy of courage, passion, hard work, faith & love. Not only as a model, but throughout the lives of those who were privileged to cross his path.
We love you like you loved us: forever & always.
