Mignonne Fulay Moral, affectionately known as "Mama Meg," was born on January 17, 1958, in Quezon City, Philippines, and peacefully joined Our Creator on September 21, 2024, at City of Hope in Duarte, California. Her journey in life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, a passion for cooking, and a generous spirit that left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Meg's roots in education began at St. Mary's College in Quezon City for her freshman and sophomore years before she moved to Camalig, Albay, Bicol, where she studied at St. Agnes Academy in Legazpi, graduating with the High School Class of 1974. She pursued her passion for nutrition at the University of Santo Tomas, earning a degree in BS Food and Nutrition. Despite her brief career as a registered dietician, Meg embraced her role as a homemaker with open arms, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her family.
In addition to her role as a homemaker, Meg was a successful entrepreneur. She owned and operated her own commissary, supplying freshly baked pastries to local bakeshops and businesses. Her talents in the kitchen extended beyond her home, as she established a catering business that became known for its impeccable service and delicious dishes. Whether it was pastries for a local bakery or an elaborate catered event, Meg's love for cooking and her dedication to her craft shone through in every bite.
As a loving wife to her husband Pons and a devoted mother to their four children—Ramon "Monchi," Miguel, Marty, and Mara—Meg’s love knew no bounds. The cherished memories of her cooking all day in the kitchen linger lovingly in the hearts of her family, who can still hear the laughter and chatter that filled their home during many heartfelt dinners. She eagerly participated in every aspect of her children's lives, from attending countless school events to sharing tender moments at the dinner table that often stretched into hours of joyful conversations.
Meg's personality radiated kindness and thoughtfulness; she was a generous spirit, always offering support and a listening ear. She was more than just a mother; she was a confidante, a best friend, and a beacon of warmth and love. Her noteworthy talents as a baker and chef brought her family and friends together for many joyous gatherings, where her culinary skills were outshone only by her vibrant spirit.
In addition to her immediate family, Meg maintained close connections with her beloved sisters Ingrid, Bam, and Mae, her brothers-in-law Fouad, Bong, and Kelly, and her treasured nephews: Judric, Justin, Jan, and her one and only niece, Jillian. Each relationship she nurtured was a testament to her loving nature and her ability to make everyone feel cherished.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones who will gather to honor her life. Visitation services will be held at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills – Tribute Center in Covina, California, on October 15, 16, and 17, 2024. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on October 18, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Chino Hills, California.
Mignonne "Mama Meg" Fulay Moral, a beautiful soul, will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the kindness she embodied, the joy she spread, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to shine brightly, forever guiding those she left behind.
