Mier Tiongco "Paul" Manalastas (1949-2026)

Mier Tiongco Manalastas, aged 76, passed away on June 2, 2026, in Long Beach, California surrounded by his family. Born on September 19, 1949, in Pampanga, Philippines, Mier lived a life filled with adventure, faith, and love. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan, and his two children, Derick and Lynsie.

In his younger years, Mier worked as a seaman, a profession that allowed him to travel extensively throughout the world before settling down in America. During his time at sea, he visited many countries and experienced diverse cultures, shaping and developing a deep appreciation for the world beyond his homeland. After his travels, Mier began a career with the Torrance and Long Beach Unified school districts, dedicating his time to maintenance and facilities support, fostering a welcoming environment to each school day.

Mier's quiet kindness and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. A funeral service will be held on July 2, 2026, at Forest Lawn - Cypress inside the Church of our Fathers at 11 AM. Those who wish to join us for the urn placement following the service are encouraged to bring umbrellas for shade support if needed, as final blessings will take place outdoors.
