Michael Patrick Garcia

July 20, 1974 — September 27, 2020

Michael Patrick Garcia was a beloved husband, son, brother, father/stepfather, Grandfather/Tata's, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a man of many hats who wore them all so very well. If you knew Mikey, you know how blessed were to have him in your life.

He was a kind, gentle giant who would give you the shirt off his back and he was also the silly goofball who would invite you to the party. He was the life of the party who loved to play and listen to salsa. He was happiest when we were happy.

As a husband, he was my mother's soulmate, he was her best friend, her shoulder to lean on and hand to hold. They loved, lived and traveled the world always side by side. He loved her with all he had as she will always love and remember him as her handsome Peruvian.

As a son, his mother loved him more than words could express. He loved his mom dearly and would do anything for her. He would look forward to her visits where she would come over and cook almost all his favorite Peruvian food.

As a bother, he was the best little brother anyone could hope for. Romy loves to tell us stories of their childhood, you can definitely feel the love. She always says he is the best baby brother.

As a father, he shared a beautiful relationship with his daughter Aaliyah, you could tell she meant the world to him. She was his beautiful princess who he was so proud of.

As a stepfather, he truly knew how to win us all over. We were already grown but he saw the void we had and he filled it with love, compassion and support. He would look out for us, call us and help with questions I didn't even know how to ask but he always had the answers to.

As a Tata's, he was their #1 fan! No matter if it was basketball, baseball, soccer, science, math or modeling he was always there encouraging them to put in their best so they could get better out. He was a very involved grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his grandchild.

As a best friend, he was just that, the best! He would tell you like it is and make you see things from different sides and help you with all the tough stuff in life. He was the one you would lean on for advice and he was the one who could calm you down and help you take a step back. He was the one who pumped you up and motivated you.

Mikey inspired, mentored and impacted all of our lives and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He lived his life to the fullest and he did so with such grace and dignity.

"The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively."
