Michael DuPont, 76, born on January 6, 1949 in Lyons, Kansas to the late Virginia (Fusser) and Nova Du Pont, He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Paul and a step father, Richard Carlsen and step brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Lynne Carlsen and Becky Kellems, niece Cherah and nephew Ross Trayer.
Mike was a 1968 graduate of Milligan High School where he was a member of track and field team. He received his AA degree in accounting from Long Beach Community College in 1976. Following high school he enlisted in the Air Force. He proudly served his country and believed strongly in the oath he took.
He worked for B.J. Hughes in the accounting department and Nissan Acceptance Corporation as a remarking manager for 23 years.
He was very active in Boy Scouts of America, Troop 65 as a patrol dad along with Chuck Reyburn and George Wiger. He participated in numerous hikes, bicycling and camping trips and was proud that all of the scouts in his patrol achieved the rank of Eagle.
He was known and loved by many and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a private person, confident in himself, always knew what he wanted, generous, determined and a proud man. His greatest pride was his sons and watching them grow as they achieved significant milestones on life's path plus other personal goals. His passions were riding his Harley's, bicycles, tinkering with all his vehicles, travel in the motorhome as well as other travels and time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed the peacefulness of his retirement home in New Mexico and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy of 51 years and son Robert (Annette) and grandsons Robert Jr. and Sean along with 2 sisters, Karen Ford in Kelseyville, CA and Candy Perkins of Indiana along with nieces Jennifer DeWitt, Katrina Bertelsen, nephews Ryon Wagner, Ricky and Steve Carlsen and several other cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 12 at Cypress Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA from noon - 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2;30 P.M. at Everlasting Hope section at Cypress Forest Lawn. Kathleen Vance will officiate.
