Melinda Opendo Batas, 84, was born on November 19, 1941, in Cebu City, Philippines. Melinda went home to be with our Lord and Savior in heaven on June 12, 2026 in Norwalk California. She lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and devotion to those she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend who touched the lives of many with her faith in God and her caring heart. Melinda has 5 children Joseph Gerard, Marie Heidi, Robert Matthew, Roanna Kay, and John David. Through these children she has 8 grandchildren; Charlene Ann, John Joseph, Alyssa Kay, John Bradley, Breanna Ashley, Anthony Justin, Matthew Jacob and Sofia Grace. Through Charlene & her husband Jarod, Melinda has a great granddaughter in heaven whom she reunited with named Eliana (Ellie) Rose Ludwig. Melinda found joy in spending time with her family, sharing meals, offering encouragement and advice, and lastly creating memories with those closest to her. Her unwavering faith in God guided her throughout her life and provided strength and comfort to those around her. Melinda is survived by her beloved family and many friends who will cherish her memory forever. Though she is no longer with us physically, her love, wisdom, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
