Kingston, NH: Melia A. (Jamiel) Scheffler, 87, a resident of Kingston, NH for forty years, and formerly of Peabody, MA died on November 6, 2015 at Exeter Hospital.

Born in Fall River, MA, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Falugo) Jamiel, she graduated from Warren High School in Warren, RI, with the Class of 1946.

A housewife and homemaker to her husband and children, Mrs. Scheffler was a founding member of the Carriage Town Bible Church in Kingston. She enjoyed sewing, reading, making crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Scheffler was also an accomplished artist and accordion player and enjoyed exercising. She also volunteered at the Thrift Store at the Senior Center.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tom L. Scheffler in 1998, and is survived by a son Max Scheffler and his wife Runping of Kingston, NH, three daughters, Deborah Hoyt of Lee, NH, Catherine Plasterer and her husband John of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mary Lord and her husband William of Pelham, NH, four brothers, Bolus Jamiel of Warren, Rhode Island, Hirum Jamiel of Warren, Rhode Island, Edward Jamiel of Bristol, Rhode Island, and James Jamiel of Daytona, Florida, two sisters, Zenobia Paulhardt of Tiverton, Rhode Island, and Anissa Polando of Swanzee, MA, nine grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Scheffler's Life Celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Carriage Town Bible Church, 4 New Boston, Road, Kingston, NH. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingston Community House, Inc., P.O. Box 625, Kingston, NH 03848.
