Melanie A. Tavera

Melanie Abella Tavera, 58, born on February 22, 1962, in Manila, Philippines, passed away December 30, 2020. She resided in Glendale, CA at the time of her passing. She died in her sleep due to COVID-19 complications. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.

Melanie had a large family; including a husband, five children, and three grandchildren. She loved to be positive and happy throughout her life. Her favorite things to do were listening to music, dancing, and celebrating milestones for herself and her family. One of her mottos was "be happy."

Melanie emigrated from the Philippines to the United States in the late 1970's as a teenager. She became a single mom to Andre in the 1980's, then grew her family with her husband — Roberto — in the 1990's to include Adolfo, Mark, Chanel, and Tiffany. Melanie worked in the administration of the banking and legal fields. After her children were all grown, she finally earned her dream of having higher education with Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration.
