Haverhill, MA: Maureen J. (Comeau) Bonnell, 64, of Haverhill and formerly of Livermore, CA and Newport, VT, died on October 27, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Donald O. "Coke" and Mary L. (LaBonte) Comeau, she attended Haverhill public schools and Haverhill High School, graduating with the Class of 1970, and also attended Northern Essex Community College.

She first worked as an Operator at New England Telephone and Telegraph in the Haverhill office until moving to Livermore, CA in 1976 where she operated a home cleaning business. She moved back to Haverhill in 1985 and worked at Hale Hospital in the Oncology Department and Hematology Lab. In 2000, she relocated to Newport, VT and worked at North Country Hospital before she established Top of the Hill Greens, a local farm stand which she co-owned and operated for several years selling fresh vegetables and flowers. Returning to Haverhill recently she was a member of the staff at the Bradford Country Club.

An avid outdoors person, she enjoyed whitewater rafting, camping, playing Frisbee Golf, softball and pool and also enjoyed bowling.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Duane A. Bonnell of Derby Line, VT and Michael D. and Hilary Bonnell of Burlington, MA; three grandchildren, Cameron, Madison and Brody Bonnell; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald O. "Doc", Jr. and Susanne Comeau of Newton, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna M. and Gerald Girard of Haverhill; her former husband, David Bonnell of Haverhill; her best friend and longtime companion, Warren "Jr." Petit, Jr of Newport, VT; a stepmother, Josephine Comeau of Bradford, MA; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, from 2 to 4 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Route 121A), Plaistow, NH. An outdoor funeral service will follow at 4:15 PM on the grounds of the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
