Matthew Shane, 30, born on August 18, 1992, in Pomona, Calif., passed away May 20, 2023. He resided in Upland, CA at the time of his passing. Matt had completed 2yrs of college when he decided he wanted to be a glassblower. He next spent 1yr at a Berkeley studio learning the trade, eventually becoming a Master Lampworker/Artist creating both functional/nonfunctional art.
He opened his studio G&G LAMPWORKING in 2016 in downtown Upland and since then dozens of people have processed thru learning the craft. In his personal time he enjoyed his 2015 Mustang GT500 Anniversary Edition and also recreational driving his Can-Am 3-Wheeler. Matt was a gentle soul who had way too little time on the planet. He will be sorely missed by his friends, associates and family. He is survived by his parents, Alvan and Barbara Shane.
Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.
