Mathew Carter

Mathew Carter 78, was born on July 1, 1934 in Anderson County, South Carolina. He, along with his older brother Elvin Carter and his younger sister Peggy Carter Davis (both deceased), were raised on a farm in a loving southern home by his mother Annie Belle Carter, grandmother Mamie Etta Hull and grandfather Herbert H. Carter (all deceased). And although Mathew lived much of his adult life in New York City, at the time of his death on August 20, 2012 he resided in Los Angeles, California where he'd moved 7 years prior to be closer to his 2 grandchildren Madison and Ian. Being a huge sports fan Mathew rarely ever missed a televised pro football, basketball or baseball game and he certainly never missed the opportunity to cheer on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Mathew is survived by his 3 adult children - Donald Anthony Carter, Brenda Hodges and Fatima Carter, his 2 grandchildren - Madison & Ian Hodges and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other devoted relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA.
