Maryann Burton, 78, born on August 02, 1946, in Kenmare, ND, United States, and peacefully passed away March 15, 2025. She resided in La Quinta , CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.  Maryann was affectionately known as Tobi to her friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John & Ethel Skeen, and half-brother and wife, Benny & Ann Lund,  and half-sister Delores and husband Herbert Coons.  She is lovingly survived by her cousin Jim Nelson & family plus other cousins, niece Lynne Smith and her family, and a devoted close-knit circle of friends, Judy, Diane & Don, Lana, Linda, neighbors Connie & David, and Mary & Denny who will miss her dearly, including many friends throughout the U.S.

Maryann's favorite charity was Childhelp and she was a prior member of the Childhelp Orange County Chapter and the Childhelp Indian Wells Chapter.

Maryann was born in ND, but spent much of her life outside her hometown.  She graduated from Flaxton High School in Flaxton, ND, before attending college in Grand Forks at the University of North Dakota and then moving to California.  

Maryann had a beautiful voice and a wonderful singing career performing in Hawaii and throughout the country with Don Ho. Later she moved back to California, married and worked in the movie business with her former husband Billy Burton.

She traveled from the fields of North Dakota to Los Angeles, Hawaii, Ventura, Hollywood, and  her final home in the beautiful Southern California Desert of La Quinta.

Maryann touched countless lives with her compassion and spirit.  She loved all her dogs, including the extra special bond she had with her loving toy Schnauzers, Lexi and Zoe.  

Maryann's beauty and grace and strength of spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
