Mary 'Dee' Reynolds

June 12, 1931 — August 20, 2014

Dee Reynolds, of Palm Springs, California, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2014.

She was born in Lackawanna, New York at Our Lady of Victory Basilica and National Shrine on June 12th, 1931.

Her son, Jeffrey C. Reynolds, former husband of 33 years, James S. Reynolds, M.D. and her beloved 22 year old cat, Angel, all preceeded her in death.

Her strongest passion was when she got involved with being a Hospice volunteer here in the desert for nearly 20 years. She was always there for you. She was a very compassionate person who also loved sharing hugs and laughter. Dee had a heart of gold!

Dee thoroughly enjoyed playing tennis, listening to music and attending local jazz sessions, dancing, cooking (had the nickname Mama Parmesan), taking photographs, filling up dozens of albums and was not embarrassed to say she was happy to do her own housework! Quite the nest-builder! Dee loved to meet up with her close gal-pals, Phyllis, Joyce and Lou, just to name a few, to participate in their 'Gin Mill' Group get togethers. Dee was a very proud grandma and she only wished she could see her grandchildren more often. Dee was also very involved with the Poor Clare Nuns in Los Altos Hills, California and in Santa Barbara, California. Dee was a very organized woman, remembering hundreds of birthdays, anniversaries and the like for relatives and friends as well as acquaintances. Whenever relatives and friends came to visit her at her home in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Palm Springs…she was the happiest and best tour guide ever!

Dee is survived by:
Her children: Pamela and Mark
Her grandchildren: Sean, Kyle, and Nicole
Her special cousin and God-Daughter: Jenny Lynn-Naft
Her favorite and most beloved cousin 'Jack' JP Whitesell and his family
Her childhood best friend 'Sis' Peg Geatz-Wilt
Countless cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.

We will miss our Chatty-Cathy!
Peace be with you…
