Mary Jo Perdew, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and good friend passed away in Norwalk, CA, at the age of 83 on January 26, 2018.
Mary Jo is proceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Perdew, son - Butch, mother, father, three sisters, Marie, Melba and Frankie; three brothers, Jack, Sam and Charlie.
Mary Jo is survived by her son Kevin Perdew, grandsons Nicholas (Carlee), Ryan, granddaughters Keely, Nicole, Crystal and Rochelle, great grandchildren, Trevor, Cara, Noemi, Mason, Liam, Aria, Skyler, Jayden, Jesse and Bella plus several nephews and nieces, and numerous other close relatives and friends all of whom she was very proud.
Mary Jo, better known to her family as Grandma Rudy, Grandma Judy, Auntie, G Jude and Mary Jo of course.
Mary Jo was born April 4, 1934, in Arkansas then moved to Oklahoma after finishing school where she met the love of her life, Bob. They were married October 4, 1950. The two started their family in Oklahoma having two sons, Robert (Butch) 1951, and, Kevin 1954. Bob and Mary Jo moved their family to California in 1956 and in 1961 they settled in their home in Montebello, Ca and were fortunate enough to celebrate 50 wonderful years together.
Mary Jo was a selfless, kind, brave, strong and hard-working woman who first enjoyed raising her children. She taught them important life lessons by her example. Mary Jo also loved spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, the ponies, attending church and she loved watching Billy Graham.
The service of remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at Forest Lawn, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630, in the Church of Our Father's. Interment to immediately follow.
A lunch reception will take place at El Torito, 5995 Katella Ave., Cypress, Ca 90630 following the service and interment.
Visitation will take place Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. inside the Devotion Room in Forest Lawn, Cypress.
