Mary H. Moore

November 30, 1912 — February 16, 2021

Born Mary Charlotte Hand on November 30, 1912, to Herbert Robinson Hand and Mary Ann Edwards Hand (Polly), of Chicago, Illinois, peacefully passed away February 16, 2021, in DuPont, Washington, at 108 years young. Mary was a Chicago girl through-and-through, and a lifelong Cubs fan, having been to Wrigley Field many times to watch them play. She married Damon H. Moore (Bud) in 1938; they had one child, John G. Moore (Gregg). In the mid 1940s the family moved to Dallas, Texas. The family again moved in the early 1960s to Southern California, where Mary pursued a career with Siemens Audiology. In her time at Siemens, she was able to globe trot the world and visit many different places. One of her favorite places to visit was England, where she had spent part of her childhood, and had many cousins that she was close to. Mary moved to Washington State in 2010, to be closer to her son Gregg, granddaughter Jeanne, and great-grandson Alejandro, and a few years later she welcomed great-granddaughter Abegail. Family was very important to Mary, and her granddaughter and great-grandchildren were one of her greatest joys in life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Polly, her husband Bud, cousins Jack Lloyd (Chicago, IL) and Emily Wilde (Wales, UK), and many other very dear cousins and life-long friends. Mary is survived by her son Gregg (Ginger), granddaughter Jeanne (Tony), and great-grandchildren Alejandro and Abegail. Aunt Mary is also survived by her nephews Ken (Kaiyu), Jim (Jill), Tom (Cheryl); her nieces Roberta, Carol, Liz (Joel), Kathy; best friend Edda; many great-nephews and -nieces, and their children.

Our family extends it's heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the caregivers, nurses, staff, and residents of Patriots Landing in DuPont, Washington, for all their love and support for Miss Mary over the years.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the charities that Mary supported:
ASPCA (https://secure.aspca.org/donate)
Wolf Haven Sanctuary (https://wolfhaven.org/shop/donation/)

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale California.
