Mary G. Luce

Mary G. Luce, 96, of Rancho Mirage, California, went to be with her Lord on April 26, 2012 in Palm Desert, California with her family by her side. She was born on July 2, 1915 in Martin, Tennessee to Ernest and Edna Carter and was married to E.J. Luce in Los Angeles, California on June 22, 1951. Mary worked for Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles for more than 20 years and moved to Palm Desert after her retirement. She was very active in her church, University Baptist and with the American Baptist Women (ABW). Reading and music were an enjoyment to her along with spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann La Fleur of Rancho Mirage, California and Debra Collins of La Quinta, California; her sisters, Sara Sims of Cathedral City, California and Cora Sparrowk of Lodi, California. She has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City with a visitation from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 and a chapel service at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 with interment to follow.
