Mary "Aleta" Duffey, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on May 15, 1946, and spent her life creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. A devoted wife to her loving husband, Dennis, Aleta was a pillar of strength and love, always providing support and encouragement to her family.
Aleta's legacy lives on through her three children: Michael, Jason, and David. As a mother, she instilled values of kindness, resilience, and compassion in her children, guiding them as they navigated life's journey. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a beloved grandmother to twelve grandchildren: (Michael) Michael and Kimberly. (Jason) Justin, Ashley, Jordan, Kendra. (David)Trevor, Mason, Dylon, Jordon, Bailey and (Jana) Rylee. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Aleta was also a proud great-grandmother to great-grandchildren including: (Michael) Tatyanna, Tiara, Eric, Neisha and Tejonne. (Jason) Ella, (David) Savannah, Henry, Haevynn, and Maddox. Including beloved extended family members, including special relationships with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Her family brought her endless joy and fulfilled her life with laughter and love. She is survived by her brother Ted and niece(more like a sister to my mom) Denise, Cousin Mark and niece Stacy.
Aleta will be remembered not only for her unwavering devotion to her family but also for her gentle spirit and the countless moments of warmth she shared with those around her. Her laughter was infectious, her hugs were comforting, and her smile touched the hearts of many.
A memorial service to honor Aleta’s life will be held on June 28, 2025, at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage in Covina, California, beginning at 2:30 PM, with the service concluding at 3:30 PM.
In this time of mourning, those who had the blessing to know Aleta celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible marks she left on their hearts. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the loving memories of her family and all who were fortunate to share in her light.
