Mary Denardo, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Glendale, CA surrounded by her son and family. Born on July 8, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Mary lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and an unwavering passion for her family and friends.
For over 50 years, Mary dedicated herself to her craft as the owner of Girl Friday, a beloved secretarial business that became a staple in the community she served. Her professional journey was not merely about work; it reflected her innate ability to connect with people and make their lives a little brighter. Mary's personality was characterized as kind, welcoming, and fun—qualities that were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A proud graduate of the Eagle Rock High School Summer of '56 Class, Mary was committed to her roots and the alumni community. She served on the board of the Eagle Rock High School Alumni Association for many years, tirelessly working to keep the membership thriving and honor the legacy of her school. In recognition of her dedication, she was honored with the Soaring Eagle award at the Eagle Rock Women's Club in 2015, a testament to her contributions and impact on the community.
Mary found joy in spending time with her family and friends, and they will forever treasure the memories created together. She is survived by her loving son, Steve Costa, and daughter-in-law, Yolanda Costa, along with her cherished grandchildren: Natalie, Jazzlyn, her husband Brantley, Valerie and Abraham, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Sophia and Ezekiel. Mary’s love for them was profound, and she took immense pride in their achievements and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Denardo, who held a special place in her heart, and her devoted parents, John and Faye Costa. Each of these family members played a significant role in shaping Mary’s life, and she carried their love with her throughout her journey.
As we celebrate the life of Mary Denardo, we invite you to join us for her Funeral Service on May 30, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Old North Church in Los Angeles, CA. Together, we will honor a remarkable woman who enriched the lives of so many and left a legacy that will continue to inspire.
Mary’s spirit will live on through her family, her friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her wonderful life. She will be missed dearly but loved eternally.
