Martin Jaramillo, affectionately known as Don Martin, passed away peacefully at his home in El Monte surrounded by his loving family. Born in Paracho, Michoacan, in 1934, Martin came to California to work as a migrant worker. He worked his way to San Gabriel where he met his beautiful wife, Natalie. They settled in El Monte to start a family, and his love of plants and gardening would take root. He was very proud of gardening and manicuring properties for over 30 years. He paved the way for many to come to America as his wife and he opened their home to those who needed food and housing. Preceded in death by his wife, 7 siblings, and eldest daughter, his death marks the end of an era. He will be missed, but he is survived by 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. The legacy of El Rey will be carried on.
