Martha Janet Crow

Martha Janet Crow, age 70, of Long Beach, passed away in the loving company of her family on Wednesday, June13, 2018, at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of life was held for her at the home of her nice, Devon Trunnelle, and her ashes will be placed here at Forest Lawn Long Beach Columbarium on Monday, June 25 2018.

Janet was born on October 7, 1947 in Houston, Texas, the third child of Harvey Sr. and Martha Crow. Her childhood was spent in Long Beach, CA, where she attended school at Long Beach Polytechnic High and California State University Long Beach. After graduating CSULB, she returned to Texas where she taught Middle School for five years and re-established old family relationships. Janet, some years later, moved back to California and went to work for Western Airlines. After fifteen years with the airlines, she transitioned to a teaching career in the Downey Unified School District. It was there that she spent the happiest of her working years mentoring students and younger staff.

Having never married, Janet become the quintessential aunt (Aunt Jan Jan) filling the active lives of nieces and nephews with presents, special trips and sound advice on "following the rules". She was ever-eager to help these same kids raise their own children in her later years.

Janet is survived by her siblings, Harvey, Daryl and sister, Mary Ann Massey. Along with two half-brothers, Gerald and Scotty Crow of Texas, and their families.
