Martha Fernandez Cortes

Martha Cortes, 60, born on February 10, 1956, in Purepero, Michoacan, Mexico, passed away July 30, 2016. She resided in Wilmington, California at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Claudio and her three children; Claudia, Israel and Gabriel. She was a woman you couldn't help but to love. She always did everything in per power to simplify every segment of people's lives. She was always the one you could run to for advise; and she was also the last person you would want to get advise from because she would not sugar coat anything. She was always the proper combination of fear, love and respect. Her daughter, Claudia, inherited her nurturing demeanor. Her son, Israel, inherited her forthrightness. Her son, Gabriel, inherited her comedic nature. Matriarch is defined as a woman who is the head of a family or tribe; an older woman who is powerful within a family or organization. This is exactly who she is, was, and always will be. May she rest in everlasting peace. We love you mom.
