Marta Martizano De La Rosa

Marta de la Rosa was lovingly called by her children "Mama" and affectionately called by friends and family as "Tita Marta" or "Auntie Marta". Marta was born in the province of Antique, Philippines in the town of Bugasong, where she grew up with her siblings farming and taking care of the land. She gave birth to her first son Danny before moving to the capital city of Manila in the 1960s. Marta worked as a kitchen helper in the cafeteria of the Ault and Wiborg Company where she met her husband Margarito Jr. Marta and Margarito eventually got married at the Manila City hall on July 13, 1968. They had two children together, Mike and Gary.

Marta was known by friends and family as a great cook and her cooking was always expected during special occasions. She would often support the family by going into the home cooking business like roasted peanuts, homemade peanut butter, sweet pastries, etc.
In 1991 Marta along with Margarito Jr. and Gary, migrated to the United States. Marta worked for the Marlora Manor Convalescent Hospital in Long Beach, CA and received a few awards for service. Marta had a total of six grandchildren whom she lovingly admired and was very proud of, Maie, Danielle, Paulo, Benedict, Garren, and Rylan.

Marta passed away peacefully at UCI Medical Center on August 3, 2013 at 4:05pm. She is survived by her three children and their wives and grandchildren. Marta has now joined her husband, Margarito Jr. in the kingdom of the Lord. Her remains now rest next to her beloved husband at Forest Lawn in Cypress, CA.
