Marjorie Jean Meinke

Marjorie Jean Meinke, 94, born on August 24, 1920, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, passed away March 14, 2015. Marji was a long time resident of Long Beach and attended Wilson High School. She met and fell in love with Andrew Meinke, whom she shared her life with for 60 1/2 years until his passing on March 17th, 2001. They had three children, Andy Meinke Jr (Laurie), Jan Hoover (Steve - deceased) and Bil Meinke (Suzi.

Marji was the consummate homemaker and accomplished seamstress, not to mention the best Mom in the world. She had an incredible memory, especially when it came to Birthdays. Even until the end, she could tell you the day of the week and date without having looked at a calendar. Simply amazing. Her love of Classical Music and American History was infectious and left lasting impressions on all of her children.

When she passed, Marji was graced with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Grandaughter, Talia Henandez (Vic); great-grandchildren, Elysa and twins, Madison and Matthew; Grandson Ryan (Jessie) and great-grandchildren Xavier and Annecy; Grandson Jeff; Granddaughter Amanda (Jake) great-grandchildren, twins Soleil and Jackson.
