Mario A. Leal-Cruz

Mario Alberto Leal-Cruz was born on June 6, 1950 in the small town of Tunkas, Yucatan, Mexico. He passed away in Los Angeles, California on July 28, 2024. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA. The visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 30th from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Faith Chapel. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 31st at 2:30PM at the Old North Church.

Temo, as many called him in Tunkas, will be deeply missed. He was the friend down the block that you would go to when you where in need of a good conversation or really needed the help of someone without any judgement. He was the second child of ten siblings. When his mother and father passed away, he took on the responsibility of providing for the family. He migrated to Los Angeles at a young age, married Bella and worked hard to provide for his own family of three children. 

His early career steps as Sous Chef started in the hotel industry. After his retirement he enjoyed cooking at home, playing with his grandchildren and seeing them grow. He enjoyed gardening, harvesting honey, and listening to boleros.

It is with a broken heart that we will say our good byes to a very loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. We thank you for being a part of our support system and joining us in this difficult time.
