Kay Snyder was promoted to the Church Triumphant on December 28th, 2025. She was 87 years old. She was born on September 18, 1938, in Holmes County, Ohio to William "Ike" and Irene Hummel. Kay graduated from Berlin School where she attended all 12 years. She was a cheerleader, played trumpet in the band, played piano for the chorus, was a majorette, and was involved in the Student Counsel. After graduating, she attended Wooster Business College. Always the adventurer, she went to Los Angeles and spent several months with long time family friends, Oren and Helen Oswald. Upon returning, she took the greyhound bus up to Cleveland and got a job at KYW Radio where she met Ron Nash. She and Ron married in Las Vegas, Nevada in April of 1960 and moved to Los Angeles. In 1961, their daughter Tracy Anne was born and their son Brent joined the family in 1962. The family moved to Holmes County in 1977 and sadly, Ron & Kay split up in 1980. After that, Kay moved back to California, where she found several great jobs, notably at Dentsu and Young & Rubicam advertising agencies. She met and married Ron Snyder in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, she lost Ron Snyder way too early.
After the 1994, Northridge earthquake destroyed her home, Kay moved to Atlanta, Geogia where she found a great job at Delta Airlines, holding several positions, she was there for more than 17 years before retiring. Working at Delta was perfect for Kay's adventurous spirit because it gave her the opportunity to travel the world. In Atlanta, she joined Peachtree Presbyterian Church on the second Sunday she attended there. She sang in the choir at Peachtree for 26 years, until she lost her eyesight and could no longer read the music.
Surviving are: Daughter, Tracy Anne Nash and Son, Brent Nash, Daughter-in-lawTracy Lea, and Grandson, Holden.
Kay will be buried on January 13th, at 12:30 PM next to Ron Snyder at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Peachtree Church at a future date.
