Marilou Gutierrez, 71, born on February 20, 1954, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 13, 2025. While it is impossible to put into words how much she meant to us, we hope to honor her by sharing who she was and the love she gave so freely.
Marilou was a strong, loving, and deeply selfless woman. She devoted her life to her family and friends, always putting others before herself. She taught us—by example—the value of hard work, the power of kindness, and the importance of showing up for the people you love. Her life showed us that perseverance and compassion are what truly matter.
She had the kindest heart. She was known for her patient listening ear, her warm hugs, and her gentle way of making everything feel okay. She always knew when to offer advice and when to simply sit beside you in silence. Being near her felt safe, comforting, and full of love.
As a single mother, she raised us with incredible strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Despite the challenges she faced, she filled our home with warmth and laughter. She created a place where we always felt protected, accepted, and deeply loved. Her courage and resilience inspired us every day, and she set an example of the kind of person we all hope to be.
Marilou is survived by her children, Janet (Leland) and Joseph (Patricia), and her cherished grandchildren, Lucy, Riley, and Madelyn. Her legacy lives on through them and through the many lives she touched. To our family, she was lovingly known as "Manuu". To her friends, she was more than a friend—she was affectionately known as "Mother". To her grandchildren, she was "Lola" and "Brandma", a source of endless love, comfort, and joy.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, we know she will never truly leave. She lives on in our hearts, in our memories, and in the love we continue to share with one another. We will carry forward her stories, her laughter, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of the world.
Mom, thank you for everything you gave us and for the love you poured into our lives. We love you more than words can ever express. May you rest in peace, knowing your love and strength will forever guide us.
