Mariano Rubio, Jr. , 42, was born on January 21, 1983, in East Los Angeles, CA, United States. He passed away on February 20, 2025. He resided in Compton, CA at the time of his passing.  He was known to everyone as "Cookie". A loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Cookie leaves behind his beloved wife Julissa and daughter Alissa. He had three dogs which he adored with a passion and that provided him with therapeutic and emotional support during his sickness. 

He was the son of Mariano and Rosina Rubio and brother of Armando, Javier, and Pedro Rubio.

He grew up in the city of South Gate where he attended Liberty Blvd School, South Gate Junior High, and South Gate High School. He graduated from South Gate High School in 2001 and went on to attend the University of California, Irvine and graduated in 2005. 

After college, Cookie explored several career options until he found his calling as a trucker and was able to begin his independent trucking business under Team Rubio Transport Incorporated. He had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to the trade to provide for his family.

Cookie enjoyed watching basketball, football, and most importantly boxing. He was a Chicago Bulls, Cincinnati Bengals, and Mayweather fan.

He was a very kind, generous, and humorous individual who always had a smile on his face. For those who knew him best, Cookie would light up the room with both his charming  and boisterous personality. He enjoyed hosting social events at his house surrounded by family and friends.

Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.
