Margarita Martinez (Sotelo)

Maria Salud Martinez, also known as Margarita Martinez (Sotelo), born on October 10, 1936, in Purepero, Michoacán, Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026 at 89 years old. She resided in Riverside, CA, at the time of her passing, but lived in Monterey Park, CA for 47 years. She is survived by her adult children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, Cipriano and Salome Martinez, her 17 siblings, and her husband, Salvador Sotelo. Up until the end, Margarita maintained her grace, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA on February 14, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of the Recessional.

Ladies: To celebrate her vibrant life, the family invites you to wear bright, cheerful colors in honor of Margarita. She especially loved hot pink (“chaki” pink) and yellow!

Margarita lived a life full of joy, and we invite you to celebrate that joy with us at a reception immediately following the service/burial at Vivaldi Venue, 3404 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039.
